"Having always been curious about the world above the water’s surface, a young mermaid-like woman finally decides to trade her tail for a pair of legs. The protagonist, played by Mackenzie Incoll, attempts to navigate her way through the foreign environment as she ventures to try all that she has dreamed of doing on land. Inspired by classic mermaid folklore, the film pays homage to the innocence of childhood tales while also shining a light on the stories of iconic femme fatale characters who are often forgotten or misunderstood. Night Tides is a two-minute erotic-fantasy experimental short film that seeks to honour the female gaze and female fantasies alike"
